The Walking Dead Soon to Hit the Console World

The ever growing popular television series is soon to grace the console and PC world with an upcoming debut that has so far met positive review with a lack of diatribe. This news comes fresh and details so far aren’t in depth, aside from one gameplay trailer I have managed to dig out, so speculation is welcome along with discussion of what you would like to see in the final game being developed by Telltale Games.

The gargantuan fan base cradling The Walking Dead’s success are receiving news of the upcoming console and PC debut with much appraise. Even those new to the series, including those who haven’t watched the show to begin with, are showing faith. As many may know, the popularity accompanying The Walking Dead was brought forth with its tight focus on story throughout the television series. The Walking Dead game will obviously have a breadth of storyline branches that lie directly in both player decision, dialogue, and combat throughout the game and perhaps this will lead to a multitude of endings; endings of both delicious and devastating appeal in the hearts of those who have delved into the compelling storyline of the television series.

As you can see in the gameplay leak there are dialogue choices already present in the game and these choices seem to have immediate and long lasting effects on characters and future events in the game. There also seems to be an emphasis on interactive combat, combat that involves player attention and coordination in a miniscule amount of time. Additionally, to those who may wonder as to why the graphics seem to look “cartoonish,” Telltale Games is likely moulding their graphics in this way in order to retrofit the upcoming port of The Walking Dead series to compliment The Walking Dead’s foundation, which was built upon comic book storytelling.

This game looks promising as it will further develop the genre of which it will call home to whilst encompassing the main core values of The Walking Dead series. These values which have rewarded The Walking Dead with much acclaim may too bring a bright onslaught of joyous fans. The hands of this game are in Telltale’s hands. May they do the series well in the gaming world.
