Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is set to get its world unveiling during
tonight’s basketball playoffs on TNT. However, the title’s pre-order
page has gone up a little prematurely, revealing its box art, release
date, and description:
Pushing the boundaries of what fans have come to expect from the
record-setting entertainment franchise, Call of Duty®: Black Ops 2
propels players into a near future, 21st Century Cold War, where
technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of
warfare. Pre-order today.
You may not see the page if you’re in the U.S. (I get a “your IP is
blocked” message), but if you visit the Call of Duty page for the United
Kingdom (
www.callofduty.com/uk/en/blackops2/preorder), you’ll see the
title is available to pre-order on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, with
a launch date of November 13.
Prices are not listed on the Call of Duty website, instead you’ll be
directed to third-party retailers to make your pre-order. However, I’ve
checked every retailer listed for the U.K. and as yet those pages aren’t
live. We’re expecting them to go up a little later on after Black Ops 2
gets its unveiling.
Furthermore, you can (almost) see that reveal video by visiting
www.callofduty.com/uk/en/blackops2/videos/reveal. But right now, the
video won’t play. Again, it’s likely to go live after the title gets its
official unveiling in a little while.
Unfortunately for PS Vita owners, it would seem Black Ops 2 will not be
the Vita’s first Call of Duty title. Activision has confirmed that the
series will be arriving on Sony’s latest handheld this fall, and many
expected it to happen with the next release. However, the Vita isn’t one
of the consoles listed on that pre-order page.
Are you excited for Black Ops 2? Will you be pre-ordering today?
